Ingredients

  • Ingredients
  • 1/2 kilo chicken wings - each wing cut into 2
  • 50 to 100 grams of butter
  • 6 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 pc onion minced
  • 1/2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 3 Tbsp cooking oil
  • 1/8 cup ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp. oyster sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. black peppercorns ground
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup Sprite or 7-UP soft drink
  • For the garnishing:
  • Spring onions chopped
  • fried garlic

Instructions

  • Method

Wash and clean the chicken. Cut up the wings into 2 pieces each. Place the wings into a bowl, along with soy sauce, and rub the chicken until well coated.

Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the chicken lightly until slightly brown. Don't fry the chicken thoroughly, at this point, you're just looking to fry the skin.

Using the same pan, heat up about 2 tablespoons of cooking oil and sauté your onion and garlic until soft and translucent.

Add in the butter and stir until it is melted. Now add the ketchup, salt, oyster sauce, and pepper. Stir them for a few seconds, and add the chicken wings while stirring.

Pour out the sprite or 7-Up soft drink and bring to a boil. Cover the pan and simmer until the chicken becomes tender. This should take about 20 to 30 minutes.

Turn off the heat and serve hot with your favorite sides.

Garnish with spring onions or fried garlic.

                Enjoy!
