Equipment

  • Slow Cooker
  • Measuring Utensils
  • Measuring Cup
  • Medium-Sized Bowl
  • Whisk

Ingredients

  • Pounds Chicken Breasts Boneless, Skinless
  • Cups BBQ Sauce
  • ¼ Cup Brown Sugar Packed
  • ½ Teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • ½ Teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Paprika
  • 2 Tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Salt To Taste
  • Pepper To Taste

Instructions

  • In the medium-sized bowl, combine the base ingredients. This includes apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, and BBQ sauce. Whisk to combine.
  • Add the chicken breasts to the slow cooker, placing them at the bottom.
  • Pour the sauce from the medium-size bowl into the slow cooker to cover the chicken.
  • Now it’s time to set the slow cooker up. Place the lid on the slow cooker and set the temperature on high for 2-3 hours or on low for 4-6 hours.
  • Once the slow cooker has fully cooked the chicken, it’s time to shred the chicken. Use two forks to insert into the chicken breasts, pulling them apart to achieve the “pulled chicken” texture.
  • Another option is to remove the chicken and shred it outside of the slow cooker. Then, when completed, return the pulled chicken to the sauce in the slow cooker.
  • Give the pulled chicken a good stir in the sauce in the slow cooker. Serve on buns paired with homemade coleslaw and enjoy!

Notes

  • The recipe can be doubled for the ultimate meal prep option or for when you have to prepare for a gathering that requires more than 4 servings.
