Birds Eye Garlic Chicken Recipe
While the Birds Eye garlic chicken can be a complete meal, there are plenty of ways to liven it up and make it even more delicious. Or even try to make it yourself from scratch. Let’s take a closer look.
1) Birds Eye garlic chicken and veggie salad
This chicken and veggie salad is a recipe I make often at home. It requires very little effort, and most importantly, is the ideal light and refreshing dish for summer. Is anyone else struggling to cook in this heat? The less time in the kitchen, the better!
Ingredients
The ingredients you’ll need for this recipe are:
- 1 packet of Birds Eye Garlic Chicken pasta
- 2 tablespoons of crumbled feta
- 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
- 1 lemon
- 1 crushed garlic clove
- 2 teaspoons of dried oregano
- 2 tablespoons of toasted flaked almonds
Recipe
Now all you need to do is:
Step 1: Fry your chicken and veggies
Grab a bowl and add the olive oil, the zest, and juice from around half a lemon, alongside the garlic clove and dried oregano. Mix well. Leave to one side and add the Birds Eye garlic chicken to your frying pan, once it’s heated, following the instructions on the packet. Add the kale near the end of the cooking time and remove from heat once chicken is cooked through and the kale has wilted.
Step 2: Serve
Toss the ingredients together in the pan and serve in a large salad bowl. Now drizzle on an extra helping of olive oil, the crumbled feta cheese, almonds, and the juice from the remaining half of the lemon. Enjoy!
2) Chicken Voila Copycat
I’m aware that the Voila! Birds Eye Garlic Chicken can be quite difficult to find. Especially if you’re from outside the US. However, this copycat recipe is just as delicious. It’s inspired by a recipe from Simple Sweet Savory, and is ready in no time at all.
Ingredients
The ingredients you’ll need for this recipe are:
- 2 chicken breasts (cubed)
- 1 tablespoon of canola oil
- salt (to taste)
- pepper (to taste)
- garlic powder (to taste)
- 3/4 cup of water
- 1 bunch of broccoli (portioned into florets)
- 2 cups of sliced carrots
- 1 can of drained sweet corn
- 1 lb of rotini (or pasta of choice)
- 2 cups of heavy cream
- 1 packet of ranch seasoning
- 3/4 cup of Parmesan (grated)
Recipe
Now all you need to do is:
Step 1: Cook pasta and chicken
Cook your pasta following the instruction on the packet. In a pan, add some oil and heat over a medium heat. Add your cubed chicken to the pan once hot, along with the garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well and remove chicken from pan once completely cooked through, and slightly browned.
Step 2: Cook veggies
Steam your broccoli in the same pan, with some water in. Toss occasionally until crisp, but soft. Place your carrots into a bowl and microwave for around 4 minutes. Drain.
Step 3: Finish
Now add your corn, carrots, and chicken to the same pan as the broccoli. In a separate bowl, mix your heavy cream and ranch, and pour into the pan. Stir and bring to the boil. Reduce to a low heat and leave to thicken. This should take around 5 minutes. Now add the pasta and mix well. Serve with parmesan.
