- Whole chicken
- 1/4 cup Shaoxing rice wine or dry sherry
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 garlic cloves minced

Place the whole chicken in a large bowl, then cover with Shaoxing rice wine or dry sherry, soy sauce, garlic cloves, five-spice powder, and salt and pepper to taste.
Cover tightly with plastic wrap, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight, turning it occasionally.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).
Line a baking pan with aluminium foil, then grease the foil with cooking oil spray.
Arrange drunken chicken pieces on the baking sheet.
Bake drunken chicken for 45 minutes until it's no longer pink inside, or at least 165 degrees Fahrenheit (75 degrees Celsius) in the thickest part of the chicken.
