Set the skillet on a burner, placing the temperature on medium-high heat. Add the oil to the skillet allowing it to heat up along with the skillet.
Sprinkle the chicken breasts with salt and pepper before adding them to the skillet. When this is accomplished, add the chicken breasts to the heated skillet. Allow the chicken to cook on both sides, flipping the chicken breasts. Make sure the chicken is cooked all the way through and that there is no pink in the center.
Now, while the chicken is cooking, using the cutting board and Chef’s knife, prepare the onion. Cut off both ends of the onion, peeling off the skin. Then, mince the onion.
When the chicken is fully cooked, remove it with tongs or a fork and place it on a clean plate.
The onion should be properly minced and prepared to add to the skillet now. Dump the minced onion in the skillet. Allow the onion to cook, for about 4-6 minutes, forming a sort of paste-like consistency.
Once the onion has formed into a paste-like consistency, it’s time to add in the rest of the ingredients to the skillet. These ingredients include orange juice, thyme, ground ginger, ground nutmeg, brown sugar, and crushed pineapple. Raise the heat to high, allowing the ingredients to thicken and enhance in flavor.
Add the chicken (you can cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces before doing this) to the skillet with the yummy “Island Fire” base to make zesty Island Fire Chicken. Enjoy!
