The Korean Fried Chicken Recipe
Makes 4 servings.
Ingredients
- 1 cup of flour
- ½ cup of corn starch
- ¼ cup of baking powder
- 2 teaspoons of salt
- ¼ teaspoon of pepper
- 2 cups of soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons of garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons of sugar
- 2 teaspoons of onion powder
- 1 chicken drumstick
- 2 eggs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
- 1 onion sliced
- ½ cup soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- ¼ teaspoon red chilli pepper powder
- 1/3 cup rice vinegar

Directions to make Korean Fried Chicken:
- Start with the chicken drumsticks.
- Cut them in half, and then cut each half into 3 or 4 pieces, depending on how big you want the pieces to be.
- Mix up all the ingredients for making the chicken coating mixture. Be sure to taste before putting in the chicken pieces.
- Once ready, put in your chicken pieces and ensure they are coated fully on all sides. Dip the coated pieces in an egg wash and re-dip the chicken pieces in the coating mix again to get a thicker coating.
- Heat up a good amount of vegetable oil in a wok over medium heat. Add the chicken pieces and cook for about 5 minutes, or until golden brown. Flip the chicken pieces over and continue cooking for another 5 minutes. Drain off any excess oil. You can also fry them twice to get them more crunchy according to your liking.
- You can serve these fried chicken pieces with a side dish such as rice, noodles, veggies, or even salad.
