1) Homemade Dino Chicken Nuggets Recipe

Making your dinosaur nuggets at home is not only just the healthier option, but it can also be something fun to do with your kids. The recipe we’re looking at today is inspired by The Squeeze Daily. It doesn’t involve many ingredients and can be made in no time at all.

Ingredients

The ingredients you’ll need for this recipe are:

  • 1/2lb of ground chicken
  • 1 cup of Italian breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp. of parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 2 tbsp. of butter (melted)
  • 1 egg
  • salt (to taste)
  • pepper (to taste)
  • garlic powder (to taste)
  • onion powder (to taste)

Recipe

Now all you need to do is:

Step 1: Prepare the coating

Grab a bowl and add the chicken, cheese, egg, half of the breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder. Mix the ingredients well. In another bowl, add the other half of the breadcrumbs, along with the butter and mix well.

Step 2: Shape the dinosaurs

Prepare by lining a sheet with parchment paper. Grab portions of the chicken mixture and press down to around 1/4″ thick and place on your parchment paper. Use your dinosaur-shaped cookie cutter (or any other cookie-cutter of your choosing) on each portion, until you have used all of the chicken mixture. Now place the sheet into the freezer until slightly firm (this should take around 20-30 minutes).

Step 3: Coat the dinosaurs

Preheat your oven to 400F and remove any mixture around the cookie cutters that you do not need. Remove the nuggets from the cutters and they should now hold shape. Now dip each dinosaur nugget into your butter and breadcrumbs mix, ensuring each nugget is completely covered. Then place onto a baking sheet. Repeat until all nuggets are covered.

Step 4: Bake the dinosaurs

Place in the center of a preheated oven for around 30-35 minutes. It may be slightly longer, or slightly less, depending on how thick your nuggets are. Remove from oven – and enjoy!

2) Accompanying Orange Sauce Recipe

If you’re joining your kids in having the dinosaur nuggets, you may be looking for something to liven them up a little – and this orange sauce is incredible! This recipe is inspired by one from Food.com and it couldn’t be easier.

Ingredients

The ingredients you’ll need for this recipe are:

  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp. of soy sauce
  • 1 zested orange
  • 1 cup of orange juice
  • 1 tbsp. of sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp. of minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp. of grated ginger
  • 1 tsp. of red chili flakes
  • 2 tbsp. of rice wine vinegar
  • 1/2 cup of sliced scallions
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. of cornstarch

Recipe

Now all you need to do is:

Add the sugar, soy sauce, orange zest, and juice to a bowl and mix well. Add the sesame oil to a pan and put on a medium heat. When hot, add the ginger, garlic, and chili flakes. Cook for around one minute and add the vinegar, scallions, and soy sauce. Wait until boiling and then reduce to a simmer. Be sure to stir occasionally. In a bowl, add the cornstarch and water; mix well and pour into the pan too. When thickened, add your cooked nuggets and coat in the sauce – enjoy!
